About OptiPex
11 partner organisations from 7 countries across Europe join forces in the OptiPEx project to improve the passenger experience of public transport, with the overarching goal of this €4M EU-funded project being to enhance passengers’ sense of comfort, safety, and ease of travel. This increase in service quality and improvement of passenger satisfaction will lead to an acceleration of the adoption of automated public transportation technologies, and ultimately improve the sustainability of the mobility services across Europe.
OptiPEx service solutions will be built on advanced vehicle technologies that assess the real-time passenger experience and adjusts specific conditions to improve it. In order to develop these ethical, passenger-aware public transport solutions, OptiPEx will work with specific user groups, including wheelchair users, passengers with large objects, fragile passengers with limited mobility, tourists and students, to co-create them.
These solutions will be demonstrated and validated with our targeted user groups, and other stakeholders, in four Living Labs with three trams and one shuttle bus in Finland, Austria, Spain, and Germany respectively.
At the same time, OptiPEx will join forces with other related initiatives in the domain of user-centric vehicle technologies and services through the Connected, Cooperative and Automated Mobility (CCAM) Partnership to harmonise efforts and to ensure long-term impact.
